Change log
Newest first · last updated 2026-09-04.
Every material change to the tool is recorded here with a date and a stable link. If something published on this site turns out to be wrong, the correction is logged here too, rather than quietly edited. How the tool works and how its figures were measured is documented on the methodology page.
Releases
- 4 September 2026 — Methodology, change log and policy pages. Published this change log, a methodology page documenting the pipeline and the measurements behind every accuracy and speed claim, a privacy policy, terms of use, an on-device versus cloud comparison, and a web app manifest with icons. #
- 4 September 2026 — Pinch to zoom, and one gesture layer for mouse, pen and touch. Two-finger pinch zooms either panel on a touchscreen or trackpad; a middle-button drag always pans. A tap or click still places a point, and a drag only pans once the image is larger than its panel. #
- 4 September 2026 — Zoom and pan in the work area and the result. Each panel gained its own zoom controls, wheel zoom anchored on the pointer, drag-to-pan and a Fit button that resets to the best fit. Zooming never changes the segmentation. #
- 4 September 2026 — Submitted to Google and Bing, and IndexNow enabled. The site was verified in Google Search Console and imported into Bing Webmaster Tools, the sitemap was read successfully with all pages discovered, and IndexNow now notifies participating engines when pages change. #
- 4 September 2026 — Published. The tool moved from unlisted to public, so search engines are allowed to crawl and index it for the first time. #
- 3 September 2026 — Eleven interface languages and localised landing pages. The interface is available in English, Simplified Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Russian, Indonesian and Vietnamese, each with its own landing page and reciprocal hreflang annotations. #
- 3 September 2026 — Background replacement in the result panel. Backgrounds moved next to the result: transparent, white, a blurred copy of the photo, colour and gradient presets, any custom colour, or an uploaded image. Downloads are PNG, or JPG when the background is opaque. #
- 3 September 2026 — A second model and a full-screen editor. SAM ViT-Base was added alongside SlimSAM-77 as an optional higher-quality encoder, and the editor was rebuilt to fill the viewport. #
- 3 September 2026 — Design canvas. Cutouts can be placed on a canvas, collaged, resized and exported as PNG or JPG. #
- 3 September 2026 — Live result, no confirm step. The cutout now repaints after every click. Banking an object became optional rather than required. #
- 3 September 2026 — First release. Click-to-segment cutout running entirely in the browser on SlimSAM-77, with a transparent-PNG export. #
