Image Cutout is a free online image cutout tool. Click any object in a photo and it is cut out instantly — a person, a product, a pet, or just one of two identical items. Then replace the background, collage several cutouts, and export a transparent PNG. Nothing is uploaded: the Segment Anything model (fast SlimSAM-77, or the full SAM ViT-Base for the cleanest edges) runs entirely on your device, so your photos never leave your computer.

How to cut out an image

Open your photo. Click Open image, drag a file in, or paste one. The app encodes it once, in your browser.

Click the object. Left-click the object you want to keep. Right-click the background — or a neighbouring object — to exclude it. The cutout on the right updates after every click, with no confirm step.

Pick a background and download. Keep it transparent or choose white, a blurred version of the photo, a colour or gradient, or upload your own image, then download the PNG (or JPG) at full resolution. Press ＋ Design to collage more cutouts.

Is Image Cutout free?

Yes. It is completely free, with no sign-up, no watermark and no usage limits. Everything runs in your browser and your photos are never uploaded.

How do I cut out an object from a photo?

Open a photo, then left-click the object you want to keep and right-click anything you want to exclude. The cutout updates after every click. When it looks right, download it as a transparent PNG.

Can I cut out just one of two identical items?

Yes. Left-click the item you want (one or two positive points), then right-click the other item to exclude it. The Segment Anything model separates the two boundaries.

Can I change or remove the background?

Yes. Pick a background under the result: transparent, white, a blurred version of the original photo, a colour or gradient preset, any custom colour, or upload your own image. The download (PNG, or JPG for opaque backgrounds) includes it. The Design canvas additionally lets you collage several cutouts.

Which model should I use?

SlimSAM-77, the default, downloads about 17 MB and encodes a photo in a second or two. SAM ViT-Base is the full Segment Anything encoder: cleaner edges and fewer misses on small or low-contrast objects, but a larger one-time download (about 190 MB) and slower encoding without WebGPU. Switch any time; each model is cached after its first download.

Which languages does Image Cutout support?

The tool runs in English, 简体中文, 日本語, 한국어, Español, Português, Français, Deutsch, Русский, Bahasa Indonesia and Tiếng Việt. Pick a language from the menu in the top bar; the choice is remembered on your device.

Are my photos uploaded to a server?

No. All processing runs on your device with WebAssembly or WebGPU. The only network download is the AI model, fetched once and cached. Your photos never leave your device.
